The 11th children conference of the Sumi Baptist Akukuhou NBCC Nito Mount Zunheboto which started on October 4 under the theme, “Precious in God’s eyes” conclude on October 6 at Khukiye Lukhai village.
According to DIPR report, G. Kaito Aye, minister for Agriculture and Cooperation in his greetings speech thanked the organisers for having him at the children conference. He exhorted the children to be ready to enter into youth stage of life and to have an aim and a mission to change or bring change in the society.
He also advised the children not to get involved in illegal activities, abstain from taking abusive substances and concentrate on their studies and become successful person in life. He stressed on the importance of mother tongue and requested the SBAK to give a thorough course on Sumi language to children before they enter youth life.
More than three thousand (3000) children from in and around Zunheboto district participated in the conference. Speakers at the conference were Ghosheli Zhimo, secretary Children ministry, Rev. Dr. Kavito Zhimo, principal Trinity Theological College and Kalito Hokishe, associate professor Government College Zunheboto.
Sumi Baptist Church Zunheboto and Usutomi Baptist Church led the praise and worship throughout the conference and Generation Next Youth Kohima who were the special guest at the conference presented various items. Tokugha Awomi, secretary finance pronounced the benediction.
