Probe on Covid-19

 COVID-19 pandemic has disrupted lives the world over for more than a year. The virus infected 16, 85, 09,636 people across the world while claiming the lives of 35,05,534 as onMay28.2021. Despite the global havoc caused by the Wuhan Virus a.k.a. Covid-19, the origin of pandemic remains uncertain. This is so because various governments and politicians and corporate houses have their own vested interests to hide facts from being exposed. That is why the pandemic has generated thick clouds of obfuscation, which the mainstream press seems helpless to dispel. As many people know, there are two main theories about its origin. One is that the Wuhan virus jumped naturally from wildlife to people. The other is that the virus was under study in a lab, from which it escaped. US president Joe Biden, has asked American intelligence agencies to “redouble” their efforts to analyse the origins of COVID-19, to determine whether it emerged from human-animal contact or via a laboratory accident. Biden’s order adds significantly to the growing pressure on China to be more open about the origins of the SARS-COV2 virus, an outbreak of which was officially admitted in early 2020 in the Chinese city of Wuhan, which houses the Wuhan Institute of Virology (WIV). The WIV has been researching on coronaviruses in bats for over a decade. Some even suggested it could have been engineered as a possible biological weapon. Fresh impetus and interest was raised after a classified US intelligence report – saying three researchers at the Wuhan laboratory were treated in hospital in November 2019, just before the virus began infecting humans in the city – began circulating in US media this week.It may be recalled that then US president Donald Trump had held China solely responsible for the spread of the virus. China has the WHO under its economic grip as the fifth largest donor to the WHO and UNIDO. WHO has been complicit in cover up since 2019. Earlier this year, a team of WHO-appointed scientists flew to Wuhan earlier to investigate the source of the pandemic. However, the WHO team got nothing and concluded after spending 12 days there, that it was “extremely unlikely” that the virus escaped from WIV. China has hit back at suggestions the virus may have escaped from a laboratory. It insisted that the coronavirus may have entered the country in food shipments from another country. Chinese say the virus emerged in bats and then jumped to humans, most likely through another animal, or “intermediary host”. A pliant WHO swallowed the theory propounded by the Chinese. WHO has already lost all credibility as its top executives including the current director general Dr Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus owe their positions to the Chinese. WHO delayed declaration of pandemic as early as November 2019 when the Wuhan virus spread across China and entered some Asian countries. When it was compelled to declare a pandemic, it was four months too late. Hopefully, the probe ordered by Biden will end speculations and unearth facts. Reports that the virus was cultivated and engineered since 2015 by virologists like Dr. Peter Daszak(chief of Eco Health Alliance) and China’s leading bat virus expert Dr. Shi Zheng-Li to enhance deadliness of the virus and pre-empt mutations then creating vaccines is among those that need to be probed. The probe should also include WHO’s role as an accomplice that led to the deaths of millions across the world and devastation of the global economy.
