
Giving an update on status, actions and preparedness of COVID-19 in Nagaland as on March 19, 2020, the department of health and family welfare Thursday stated that at present there were 171 isolation beds in the state and district task force have been put in place in all districts.
In a press release, principal director H&FW Dr. Vizolie Z Soukhrie said that so far 428 (airport) screening have been done, but no positive cases have been reported and no samples sent for testing.
Dr. Soukhrie also informed that there were 13 foreigners in the state at present while there were 136 persons under surveillance. As per the update, border screening was being carried out in 14 entry points (rail and road) and 6569 phone calls have been received through helpline. Meanwhile, health and family welfare minister S Pangnyu Phom, who reviewed preparation of the department, has directed that no medical staff be granted leave and call back all staff who were on leave till the situation is contained.
