Petrol price hiked, diesel unchanged

July 17, 2021 | by admin

State-owned oil marketing companies Saturday increased the petrol price, but kept the kept diesel rates unchanged offering some relief to the transport sector. Accordingly, petrol price increased in the range of 30-40 paise per litre across the country. With Saturday’s rate revision, petrol price in Dimapur rose to Rs.100.36 per litre while the price in Kohima climbed to Rs.101.31 per litre. Petrol prices in all the districts in Nagaland have now crossed Rs.100-per litre mark.

According to IANS report, OMC officials said that if international oil prices continue to firm up, rates may rise further.
The consumers could now expect that any further rise in fuel prices is checked only after OMCs start cutting the retail price of petrol and diesel over next few days to provide relief. With crude staying low at $73 a barrel, lower fuel prices is a possibility.
