AVSU and TVSU hold general sessions

Amahator Village Students Union (AVSU) held its 59th general session from December 27 to 29, at Amahator village under the theme “Envision and Achieve” while Tsutoho Village Students Union (TVSU) held its 47th annual session from December 28 to 30, under the theme “Growing deeper, growing stronger, reaching higher”.

The special guest of the Amahator Village Students Union (AVSU) general session was USLP joint secretary Likhumse Sangtam.

A press release from AVSU president Longtsase K stated that special guest called upon students’ community to be mentally prepared to face competitive exams and be socially productive. Likhumse Sangtam also cited an example of football legend Lionel Messi, a man who rose to fame after being faced with several hardships. 

In the programme, folk songs and folk dances were performed by different clubs including tidse nyeh khidong by hope mothers club.

The session concluded by a declaration of new office bearers which will be led by Longtsase K as president, Rili as vice president, Sekhumla as general secretary and Atila as assistant general secretary. 

TVSU: The chief guest of Tsutoho Village Students Union (TVSU) 47th annual session was vice chairman, Dimapur Sumi Council, Shikuto Yeptho. 

A press release by president, TVSU, Kavitoli Awomi and general secretary, TVSU, Nikali Assumi, stated that the chief guest in his speech said that TVSU has grown so much ahead in every aspect, where he urged upon the students to introspect one’s own life, work tirelessly for achieving the milestone and to become a torch bearer of the society. He also encouraged parents to nurture and support their children to progress with the rest of the world. 

Meanwhile, former president, All Nagaland College Students Union (ANCSU), Katho Awomi, in his message as the guest speaker encouraged students to strive hard to achieve desired goals and further stressed on how to make use of little resources they get from the parents. He further noted that challenges should be regarded as stepping stones in order to move ahead in life. 

Presidential address was delivered by president TVSU, while cultural troops performed folk songs and dances. 

A new team of TVSU for the year 2022 to 2023 was also elected, led by Nikali Assumi as president and Kivi Yeptho as general secretary.
