KKT and NNSU celebrate jubilees

Kangtsung Kaketshir Telungjem (KKT) and Natha New Students’ Union (NNSU) celebrated its platinum jubilee and golden jubilee respectively.

Kangtsung Kaketshir Telungjem celebrated its platinum jubilee on December 28 and 29, under the theme ‘Rangben Rentet’ (Wholistic development).

The main speaker of the event, Kohima Ao Baptist Arogo associate pastor Imsutoshi Lemtur, on December 29, inspired and encouraged young minds into becoming one self-reliant and shared his words of wisdom. 

Around 400 students hailing from different units like Tuli, Kangtsung Yimsen, Aopenzu, Mokokchung, Kohima, Dimapur along with huge number of well-wishers and families attended the celebration programme. 

At the programme, short speeches were delivered by DAO Zunheboto L Nungsang Jamir, AIR Mokochung senior announcer P Tiakala, pediatrician Dr. Imlisenba Lemtur, orthopaedician Dr. Temjensunep, presidents of Wameken Students’ Union and Anaki Yimsen Students’ Union, CHC Meluri senior specialist, Dr. Limanukshi, The Oriental Insurance Co. Ltd. Dimapur, divisional manager I Alemla Jamir, Matsungshilu, Dy. Commandant (2 IC) 13 NAP (IR) with two HSLC Toppers 2013.  Various artists like Temsu Clover, SunepLemtur, Toshimoa, Mapulemba P. Jamir, Opangsunep & his crew, Shilurenla Tzudir, Linuknaro, Boney Kand a guest band from RKS Tuli performed during the event.

Dignitaries such as Langpangkong Kaketshir Mungdang (LKM) president  

Washimong Sadem Longkumer and ADC, Tuli Shaying Sheu also attended the programme. 

Highlights of the two-day event also included night carnival, volleyball exhibition matches, and evening concerts.

Natha New Students’ Union: The Natha New Students’ Union (NNSU) celebrated its golden jubilee on December 29 at Natha New village, under the theme “Akiqheu kuchuqu küdau jukucho (Vision towards a greater height)” with director IPR, Er. Tokishe Kiba as the chief guest and Rtd. deputy director YRS, Shihokhe Sumi, as the guest of honour. The speakers were general secretary JDU, Nagaland, Kitoho S. Rotokha and pastor SBC Mokokchung, Kughazhe Zhimomi.

According to DIPR report, Tokishe Kiba, while speaking at the celebration, drew parallels of pupa to butterfly metamorphosis to that of successful person’s life and that struggle is a phase of life, every successful person experiences. 

Tokishe asserted that with knowledge and wisdom, we can change the world and bring peace and therefore called upon the students to pursue true knowledge and wisdom. “Every person who wants to achieve greatness should have a strong will power”, he added.

He also quoted Swami Vivekananda’s proverb, “Take up one idea, make that one idea your life; dream of it; think of it; live on that idea. 

Let the brain, the body, muscles, nerves, every part of your body be full of that idea. This is the way to success, and this is the way great spiritual giants are produced.”

The programme was chaired by ex-president NNSU, Ikato V Zhimomi, welcome address was proposed by GB Natha old and general secretary, Sumi Kukami Hoho, Hetoho S Zhimomi and special number was presented by Zhimokali K which was followed by various cultural presentations and competitions.
