National level “kala utsavonline competition 2022” is underway at the Directorate School Education, Kohima. The twelve- day national online competition which started on January 1 would continue till January 12.
A press release by Department of School Education (DoSE) media cell state that the Arts Festival 2020-21 was organized jointly by the DoSE and Literacy, Ministry of Education, Government of India and the National Council of Educational Research and Training, New Delhi. Deputy mission director, Samagra Shiksha, Liyalo Apong said the Art Festival focuses on promoting traditional folk and classical art forms that reflect India’s rich culture, tradition and civilization.
Apong said the festival also create a platform to explore exchange and experience the diverse cultural heritage of the country and highlights the importance of culture and develops a better sense of identity, belongingness as well as an appreciation of other cultures.
The release stated that there are nine categories of competition for both female and male participants.
Out of 18 participants from Nagaland, 12 participants are performing at Directorate of School Education Studio for six days as per the schedule and the six participants of Visual Art 2D, 3D and indigenous toys and games venue will also be held here at a separate hall scheduled on January 5-6.
