173 Bn CRPF, Dimapur organized a series of civic action programmes at Chümoukedima and Phaipijang village, on January 5.
According to the battalion control room, DIG (Ops) CRPF Kohima, Syamchand De while addressing the gathering elaborated various activities carried out by CRPF under Civic Action to meet immediate necessary requirements of local populace and motivated students present to work hard towards achieving their goals. He also assured the CRPF’s assistance even in the days to come.
Commandant 173 Bn CRPF, Vishnu Gautam, also pointed out that Civic Action Programme was an initiative of Government of India to act as a bridge between security forces and local people and outline various civic action related programmes that the unit had undertaken both in Dimapur and Mokokchung.
It informed that, under the scheme, the unit had undertaken renovation of Conference Hall at Government Primary School, construction of girls’ toilet at Government High School, Chümoukedima Village and construction of toilet and urinal block (Boys and Girls) at Government Middle School, Phaipijang village.
The programme was conducted in presence of village council authorities, local prominent people, media fraternity, villagers and school children.
