Nagaland Board of School Education (NBSE) has informed all the registered Heads of Institutions that the Petroleum Conservation Research Association (PCRA) under the aegis of Ministry of Petroleum & Natural Gas, government of India, would be conducting its annual “saksham national competition” on essay writing, painting and quiz for class-VII to X.
According to DIPR report, the essay and painting competitions would be held on the topic, “azadi ka amritmahotsav through green and clean energy” and that quiz competition questions shall pertain to fuel conservation, environment, general studies and general knowledge.
The report stated the Petroleum Conservation Research Association was committed to make oil conservation a national movement. It said the essay writing, painting and quiz competitions aim to raise awareness among young bright minds about the conservation of petroleum products in industrial, transport, agriculture and domestic sector, reduction of oil imports, energy conservation, importance and use of renewable energy sources, and how to practice conservation tips in our daily lives, and save the environment.
It has been informed that the competition would be conducted online on the web portal www.pcracompetitions.org and that registrations by schools would be accepted from January 3 till March 2. Schools have been asked to visit the web portal and disseminate the information to the students for further details.
In this regard, Nagaland Board of School Education has directed all HoIs under NBSE to encourage the students to participate in the aforementioned competitions positively.
