Two-day “leadership training in Peace Building and Conflict Resolution” was organized by Peace Channel (PC), Dimapur on January 28 and 29.
The aim of the training was to capacitate the peace animators and volunteers on the modules of Peace Channel i.e. peace club, peer mediation forum and peace forum; to identify and enhance skills needed for peace building and conflict transformation. Addressing the participants at the inaugural session, director, Peace Channel, Dr. Fr. C. P. Anto Paul stressed on the dire need of peace building in the Naga society and encouraged the participants to broaden their horizon and be willing to constantly learn and relearn to reinvent for the betterment of society.
Dimapur district coordinator, Toviholi Y. Yepthomi dwelt on the formation of Peace Club among children in schools and localities; Kohima district coordinator, Manpang Nyiam on the formation of Peer Mediation Forum among the youths in college, universities, and localities and Zunheboto district coordinator, Kanoho on Peace Games, a holistic approach that do not discriminate rather promote inclusivity of all irrespective of age, gender, status, tribe, religion, etc.
