CM, others mourn death of LT Konyak

State chief minister Neiphiu Rio, advisor Noke Wangnao and Wenkangshu Puhu have mourned the death of LT Konyak, NCS (Rtd), the first NCS officer from the Konyak community, at his Purana Bazar residence, Dimapur on Tuesday. LT Konyak, after working as Headmaster at Government High School, Tamlu, joined the Nagaland Civil Service in 1977, becoming the first NCS officer from the Konyak community.
In a condolence message to Mrs.Tingai Konyak, the chief minister described late TL Konayk as a good and dedicated officer, who always worked for the welfare of the people. Even after retiring from service in 2006, the chief minister said he continued to work for the people and the government in various capacities.
Rio said his death was a great loss for the people of Nagaland, particularly for the people of Eastern Nagaland, adding that the void left by his death would be difficult to fill.
The chief minister conveyed heartfelt condolences and prayed that God grant the bereaved family members peace of mind and mental strength in their hours of sorrow.
Advisor social welfare, home guards & civil defence, Noke Wangnao expressed grief over the passing away of LT Konyak.
In a condolence message, Noke Wangano said late LT Konyak was a simple yet one of the efficient administrators and a fine a gentleman of the Konyak Naga, who would be missed forever.
Advisor said late Konyak’s selfless service and enormous contributions towards the growth, progress and development of the Konyak Naga were undoubtedly significant. Noke said his untimely demise was an irreparable loss to the Konyak community in particular and would create a void that would be difficult to fall.
Noke, on behalf of Konyak legislators, conveyed heartfelt condolences to the bereaved family members.
Wenkangshu Puhu (WP) has expressed deep shock and grief over the demise of LT Konyak, who it said was a bona fide member of ‘Wenkangshu Puhu’ of India and Myanmar.
In a condolence note, WP president Chenngam Konyak late LT Konyak was considered as one of the pioneers of ‘Wenkangshu Puhu’ in particular and Konyak in general.
While sharing deepest sorrow with the bereaved family in this hour of grief, WP prayed that Almighty God grant peace and solace to the departed soul.
