Mount Tiyi College hosts Neighbourhood Youth Parliament

IQAC, Mount Tiyi College hosted a Neighbourhood Youth Parliament on February 15, under the sponsorship of Nehru Yuva Kendra Sangathan (NYKS), Wokha.
The programme was chaired by assistant professor (Economics), Dr. Renthungo Patton and moderated by Mhalevolie Solo and Manoj Kumar J, assistant professors (Pol. Science and English) Mount Tiyi College.
A press release from the college stated that vice principal of the college, Amos Ovung delivered the introductory speech while state director NYKS Nagaland, John Makhabo briefed the house on the objectives of NYKS and spoke on the importance of youth parliament.
The first session was taken up by assistant professor (History) MTC, Myingthunglo Murry. She spoke on the topic ‘SANKALP: Skills Acquisition and Knowledge Awareness for Livelihood Promotion’. She spoke on the importance of acquiring skill trainings to make the youths employable and also self reliant. Assistant professor (Education), Azhanuo Peki took up the second session and spoke on the ‘National Education Policy 2020’. The final and third session was taken up by assistant professor (Economics), Dr. Roland Kikon, who spoke on the topic ‘Entrepreneurship (PEGP AND MUDRA)’.
The event concluded with vote of thanks by assistant professor (Pol. Science), Chanchithung Kithan.
