NBSE informs schools to observe IWD 2022

DIMAPUR: To commemorate International Women’s Day (IWD), which is celebrated on March 8 every year, Nagaland Board of School Education (NBSE) has informed that the ministry of Education, department of School Education & Literacy has directed all the schools to observe the occasion to amplify various issues that come in the way of women’s empowerment and hinder the realisation of gender equality.
NBSE has informed that International Women’s Day 2022 may be observed with activities such as topic of instructions in different subjects focusing on women achievers, special morning assembly online or offline on women achievers in different fields, role play, thought of the day, group song on women empowerment, award/recognition to girl students who have performed well in different fields.
The board has also informed schools to organise talks by women professionals, honour women faculty members and staff, conduct essay writing on prominent women of the district where the school is located, organise discussion-cum-workshop on women issues, discuss initiatives undertaken for eliminating gender-based discrimination and promote girls’ education.
Further, schools may also create awareness on menstrual hygiene and hold parent teacher’s meetings on nutrition for the child, particularly girl child.
