One day 2nd Hollotoli invitational inter-school debate was held on October 21 at Hollotoli School on the topic “good fences make good neighbours”.
Army Public School, Rangapahar represented by Arshiya Mateen and Amanya Sharma was declared the winner. The first runner up was adjudged to Delhi Public School, Dimapur represented by Visale Khieya and Kivikali Yeptho and second runner up was adjudged to G. Rio School, Kohima represented by Nzan Ngullie and S. Bongai Panja. Wapangienla S. Longkumer of Hollotoli School was adjudged the best interjector of the competition.
The judges for the debate were assistant professor (English department) Dr. Maongkala Longchar, associate professor (Political Science department) Khrienuo Angami and assistant professor (English department) Shuiching Konyak from Government College, Dimapur.
The debate which was opened to students of classes 9 to 12 from various schools was moderated by head boy of Hollotoli School, Huka A. Yeptho.
Altogether, 10 schools participated in the debate competition. The participating schools were Livingstone Foundation Higher Secondary School, Dimapur; Maple Tree School, Dimapur; Delhi Public School, Dimapur; Sainik School, Punglwa; Little Star Higher Secondary School, Dimapur; G. Rio School, Kohima; Army Public School, Rangapahar; Pranab Vidyapeeth Higher Secondary School, Dimapur, St. Mary’s Higher Secondary School, Dimapur and Hollotoli School, Dimapur.
