A month-long ¬skill training programme on handicraft organized by Can Youth and aponsored by Small Industries Development Bank of India (SIDBI) in collaboration with Rongmei Youth Club (RYC) which started on November 10 culminated on December 10.
During the month-long programme, unemployed youths were provided with advanced training on handicrafts.
Can Youth alongside RYC Dimapur aimed to create good space of skill development among the unemployed and dropout youth of Dimapur from different communities.
The programme was graced by RYC secretary Gangangpou. Interacting with the youth, he said that each and every youth has a potential to do something great in different ways. Gangangpou on behalf of entire Rongmei Youth Club congratulated the organization for this wonderful training which was most needed at time and participants for their dedication and hardwork to learn something.
Can Youth informed on how the crafts made by participants were put up on stall at Kaziranga National Park and highlighted the products to promote among the people and requested to use bamboo materials instead of plastics which were harmful to humans and environment.
Can Youth board secretary, Kivitoli K Sema, urged the youth to not let the work go in vain and make it profitable by accepting it as an opportunity which will guide them to earn.
While project coordinator Imlisunep Aier thanked all the sponsors, partners and village heads for their love and support and taking into observation how participants acquired knowledge on handicrafts and wished for their success in life.
The trainees were awarded a completion certificate based on their dedication and regularities.
