Emlo-To Public Organisation (EPO) on Monday said it has resolved to impose restriction on vehicular movements in the area indefinitely (from Pukhobokita to Kitsakita via Atoizu HQ) starting September 26, 2017.
In a press release, EPO chairman, Abeto Sumi, and secretary, Vikato I Chishi, expressed dismayed at the “lackadaisical attitude” of the state government, saying the government remained silent on the representation submitted August 31, 2017 for immediate maintenance of CoCo-Doyang road i.e. from Pukhobokita to Kitsakita via Atoizu HQ.
EPO said that the road, which serves a lifeline to the people of the area, was in an “extremely deplorable condition” due to negligence and lack of proper strategies to tackle the problem by the responsible authority.
EPO said though the matter was taken to the government, no positive steps or response has been initiated even after the expiry of a 15-day deadline. Therefore, EPO said it has on September 17, 2017 meeting resolved to impose restriction on vehicular movements.
