A Kohima Municipal Council (KMC) pick-up reportedly driven by a drunk driver on Monday afternoon rammed into eight vehicles at two different locations. Traffic police informed Nagaland Post that the driver was in an inebriated condition when the incident took place.
Police said the driver was heading towards town after dumping the garbage when the first accident took place near High school junction. The second one occurred near Bazar India show room, police said.
According to reports, the driver first hit three vehicles parked on the road side and in the second accident, he rammed into five vehicles also parked along the road side.
The driver was taken for medical examination and put under North Police station custody.
Police identified the driver as one Shumeto alias Chingkang (33), a resident of Naga Bazaar Kohima.
