NUTAK stages dharna on Teachers’ Day

On the occasion of Teachers’ Day, Nagaland University Teachers’ Association, Kohima Campus (NUTAK), Meriema on Tuesday observed dharna by wearing black ribbons in the University Campus extending solidarity to the nation-wide ‘Court Arrest’ at Jantar Mantar in Delhi staged by the FCUTA and All India FU&CTO.
In a press release, NUTAK president, Prof. N. Das, and general secretary, Dr. Tiatoshi Jamir, said that the Court Arrest was staged in protest against the non-implementation of the Chauhan Committee recommendation for 7th PRC. The protest was also against the “ulterior motives” of the government to withdraw all financial responsibility from Higher Education in the names of HEFA, HEERA and graded autonomy towards complete privatization and the push to turn education into corporate investments.
