
The Naga Students’ Union Kolkata (NSUK) celebrated its 52nd fresher’s social under the theme “celebrating diversity, embracing unity” on September 3 at Bishop’s College, Kolkata with pilot Air India Capt, Renathung Ezung as the chief guest.
Renathung Ezung while speaking on the occasion pointed out that, young students were the ones who should rise up with good leadership qualities. He emphasized that as believers, one should reach out to people around wherever and urged the audience to remember their traditions.
He also encouraged that as long as they had strong belief they would succeed in whatever they did.
Earlier, the first session was chaired by master’s degree student in International Relations at Jadavpur University, Thepuzo Keyho; pastor of Naga Christian Fellowship Kolkata Hetovi Ayemi invoked the opening prayer; special song was presented by a BD final year student at Serampore College, Nukshijongla Ozukum. Nibo D Zhimo gave the presidential address while general secretary of NSUK, Thejaselhou Rhetso proposed vote of thanks.
Senwatila Pongen and Amy Kent were the hosts of the second session; IRS officer, Samuel Vaiphei gave an inspiring and powerful incitement; Melong Longkumer presented a melodious song while Nitoka Chishi enthralled the audience with an electro dance. IghatoYepthomi and Tiajungla Imchen were crowned as Mr and Miss fresher of NSUK 2017 respectively.
