Ten-day annual training camp conducted by 1 Nagaland (G) Bn NCC, under aegis of NCC Group headquarters Kohima at Kohima Science College, Jotsoma concluded on June 28.
During the camp the main emphasis was made on all round development of NCC Cadets personality including imparting military training on subjects like physical training, drill, weapon training and numerous other subjects of social importance.
International day of yoga was also celebrated by the NCC cadets at two venues at IG Stadium and Kohima Science College during the duration of the camp on June 21. To mark the occasion of successful termination of the camp, the NCC cadets also organized a cultural programme in which Linda Solo, director Youth Resource & Sports was the chief guest and Anungla Aier the guest of honour.
Prizes in various category were given to the cadets including DGNCC Best Cadet and Cadet Welfare Society Scholarship Awards amounting to Rupees 154,500/- for the year 2016-17.
Col Rajeev Kumar, camp commandant annual training camp, informed that guest lectures by eminent personalities on subjects of social importance including a weapon display by 3 (NH) Assam Rifles Bn was also arranged during the camp for the cadets. A total of 535 girl cadets along with 12 associate NCC officers from all districts of Nagaland attended the camp.
