Home minister of Nagaland, Y Patton on Saturday inaugurated the Niroyo Village Circular Road under Wokha district as chief guest.
In his address, Patton urged voters to erase the politics of “clanism and favoritism”, encouraging them to exercise their franchise democratically.
“In politics the Nagas in general, voters are deeply rooted by clan favoritism and villages bound politics especially in Lotha, which is not the norms of democracy,” Patton stated.
Good governance, Patton noted, was judged by developmental strategies and therefore urged the citizens to wisely choose a representative who can uphold and develop the society.
Guest speaker, parliamentary secretary for agriculture, Y. M. Yollow, in his address claimed that the NPF was the only political party in the state whose manifesto was based on the Naga political issue.
He claimed that the party would not fail the dream of the Nagas and would continue to pursue for early settlement.
Earlier, home minister also inaugurated the village streetlight which was constructed under MGNREGA 2016-2017 and BRGF 2015-16 at Niroyo village.
