Seminar on discipleship essential diaspora mission underway at EBC

Dr. Sadiri emphasised on how best to make disciples of Jesus through discipleship essentials; issues of missions; evangelism; leadership.

He said there were four main issues of mission; responding to poverty and hunger; militant religion; migration and nominal Christianity and elaborated on how respond to these issues.

He said to be effective witnesses of Jesus Christ and heralds of the gospel, “we” needed to understand “our times and the people around and beyond us”.

Stressing that in every mission one should lay emphasis on continued and consistent effort, Dr. Sadiri added that mission work must continue on to the next level, whether in the field, leadership or strategy as leaders created leaders, not followers.

He said spiritual movement was an expanding group of disciples of Jesus Christ who were spiritual multipliers and committed to glorifying God by helping fulfil the great commission in the power of the Holy Spirit. Adding that when “we work we work but when we pray God works”, he said “let your passion guide your missions, let your mission guide your actions”.

However, he lamented that most Christians do not follow Jesus.  In this aspect he said that discipleship was simply acting, talking, walking, thinking like Jesus, a replica of Jesus.

He remarked that if “we do not make good disciples the Church would be stagnant and would be nominal only”.

At the programme, praise and worship was led by EBE students, chaired by pastor Kajal Uddin, invocation pronounced by Rev. Daniel, welcome address delivered by EBC principal Dr. Thungdemo N. Lotha and a testimony was shared by Dr. Sadiri’s wife.
