Longleng District Health Society celebrated “World Malaria Day” under the theme ‘End Malaria for Good’ with church members and staff of District hospital at IDSP Hall, Chief Medical Office Longleng.
The programme was chaired by DMO (NVBDCP) Dr. Thungbemo Patton wherein he highlighted the malaria situation in Longleng district. Dr Thungbemo also encouraged the participants to empty and dry all the water containers once a week, to fill up ditches and other unwanted water collection sites in and around the locality which invites mosquito breeding, to use LLINS at night regularly and to organise sanitation drive especially during mosquito transmission season. In commemoration of “World Malaria Day” eleven villages including Longleng Town conducted sanitation drive. The programme was attended by NVBDCP and District Hospital staffs.
