Legal awareness programme in Zunheboto, Phek

One day legal awareness cum sensitization programme was conducted by Zunheboto District Legal Services Authority (ZDLSA) on April 30 at Tenyimi Baptist Church Zunheboto.
Speaking at the programme, D&SJ/chairman ZDLSA, Nichochiyi Suyie, stressed on the ignorance of Motor Vehicle accidental cases and emphasized on the provisions, the parties, procedure and reliefs on the Motor Vehicle Accidental Cases.
Speaking on sexual harassment of women at workplace, prevention, prohibition and redressal Act 2013, resource person, panel lawyer ZDLSA Easter H. Yeptho, highlighted on the introduction and genesis of the Act and discussed in detail the provisions and contents of the Act.
JMFC/secretary ZDLSA Atoka Achumi highlighted the aims and objectives of legal services authority and stressed on the importance of being aware of the Legal Services available for the citizens which was freely available in all the Legal care and support centers in the districts across the State.
Speaking on Consumer Protection Act & RTI Act, retainer lawyer ZDLSA Tovi Z. Yeptho lamented that people were unaware on their rights as a consumer. He educated the people about the Act, to which forum the consumer could approach for their grievances, the jurisdiction of the forum, how a consumer could file a complaint and the reliefs that the forum could pass an order etc. 
At the programme queries raised by participants were also clarified by the ZDLSA officials and resource persons. Members from Nepali Baptist Church, Manipuri Baptist Church, Lotha Baptist Church and Tenyimi Baptist Church attended the programme.
The programme was chaired by Pastor Tenyimi Baptist Church V. Doulo. 
Menwhile,  Phek District Legal Services Authority (PDLSA) also conducted a legal literacy awareness programme in Christian Home School, Phek on April 27.
