EDSSU appeals for temporary bridge at Old Dhansiri, Dmu

Drawing attention to the Old Dhansiri suspension bridge, the East Dimapur Sumi Students Union (EDSSU) has demanded the authorized department/contractor to construct a temporary bridge for the safety of public till the completion of new bridge.
A press note by EDSSU president, Kanato S. Awomi and general secretary, Ato Achumi, pointed out the risk posed by the old bridge for students and public in general. EDSSU stated that it was mandatory to construct a temporary bridge for commuters before dismantling the old bridge for constructing a new bridge.
Stating that use of the temporary bridge meant for telecom cable was highly unsafe, EDSSU anticipated an accident at any moment for which the contractor would be solely held responsible.
