A Naga girl identified as Asen Longchar, from Sungratsu village in her mid twenties died in a road mishap in Jalandhar, Punjab on Saturday evening. Police were yet to ascertain the cause of the accident. Soon after the mishap, the victim’s friend informed her parents. According to sources, the deceased was an Agri engineering student of Lovely Professional University.
Delhi Police IGP, Robin Hibu said Helping Hands volunteers and others have been informed to assist in sending the dead body to Delhi, after which Delhi NGOs would send the body to Nagaland. Hibu said he had already spoken to SP Jalandhar and requested to complete necessary formalities to send the dead body home. “I have also requested the SP to carry out thorough investigation to find out the cause of the accident,” Hibu said.
