Advisor, DUDA LM & CP and NIDC, N. Thongwang Konyak has initiated maintenance of road from Mon town to Totok Chingnyu on April 7 which is about 25 kms.
According to DIPR report, Konyak lamented that the National Highway-702 (Changtongya-Longleng-Mon-Tizit) road which had been approved on March 4, 2014 and the only road connecting the district to the neighbouring districts of Mokokchung, Tuensang and Longleng had become pathetic after the Border Road Organization (BRO) left.
He also mentioned that a tender had been put up by government of Nagaland for the construction of the said road from Tizit to Mon (30 Kms).
He said that the maintenance of road from Mon town to Totok Chingnyu was initiated by the representative of the constituency as such all the expenditures incurred would be borne by him. He also informed that the machineries had been provided free of cost. The workers of the NPF party, Mon town public leaders and the villagers of Chi, Goching and Totok Chingnyu have been volunteering for the maintenance.
