Lobeno Tungoe is Voice of Wokha 2017

Lobeno Tungoe, a degree student of Mt. Tiyi College Wokha, has emerged as the ‘Voice of Wokha’ 2107. Lobeno with her powerful voice belching out cover numbers from Shania Twain ‘Forever & always’ and ‘Mean’ by Taylor Swift made her bag the most coveted title.
Very close to her were Thungrhoni Ngullie and Rhondemo Yanthan who took their berth for the first and second runners up respectively. The winners were rewarded with Rs. 20,000, a five octave keyboard along with a certificate, Rs. 10,000, an acoustic guitar with a certificate and Rs. 5,000, a gift hamper along with a certificate respectively.
The other two finalists were also presented with a gift hamper each. The first three winners will also get a very special chance for recording their original music at the Von-Jen sound recording lab.
The judges for the Season 5 of Von-Jen Voice of Wokha 2017 were Dr. Nchumbeni Humtsoe and Kyong Youth Initiative convener E. Yiben.
The show was hosted by Miss Nchumbeni Kikon. Prominent bands of Wokha ‘Old is Gold’ also enthralled the crowd with their old time favorites. The students of Von-Jen school of Music also presented special numbers. For the past five years the Von-Jen Inc. has been creating a good platform for the local budding talents to exercise and to let the community enjoy with their gifts in music and therefore deserves support from all concerned.
