Based on specific information regarding movement of armed cadre in general area Jalukie Town, 36 Assam Rifles along with police representative launched a search operation on February 19.
According to PRO IGAR (N) Kohima, during the operation, troops of Assam Rifles apprehended an individual ‘SS pvt’ Tuithung Achan of the NSCN (I-M) along with one 7.65 mm pistol with magazine and two live rounds.
The apprehended individual along with the recovered arms and items were handed over to Jalukie police station for further investigation, PRO added.
