
To educate the ex-servicemen of North East region on pension policies and to rectify pension related anomalies, the 145th Defence Pension Adalat was held in Dimapur for the first time under the aegis of Spear Corps on February 8 and 9. The Adalat was conducted by controller general of defence accounts N Neihsial and officials of PCDA, Allahabad.
A total of 148 anomalies came up out of which 109 cases were settled on the spot, balance cases were referred to PCDA Allahabad for an early settlement, the report stated.
The benefits of 7th Pay Commission and One Rank One Pension (OROP) were explained to the participants during the Adalat.
Delinking of qualifying service for pension and broad banding of disability pension were also covered.
Meanwhile, GOC of Spear Corps Anil Chauhan lauded the efforts of veterans in society building and acknowledged their contributions.
He also assured them that their welfare would be looked after. In addition to the Adalat, the Army organised medical and dental camp for all the participants.
Altogether 175 Ex- Servicemen, widows/Veer Naris attended the Adalat.
