ZEF asks CM to resign

February 4, 2017 | by admin

Zeliang Elders’ Forum (ZEF) has asked the chief minister T.R Zeliang to have “sense, honor humility and immediately resign” from public office owning moral responsibility for the turn of events and havoc created with the conduct of the ULB elections against the wishes of the people.
In a press note, ZEF convenor Itingteibe Siang said adamant stand of the state government to hold ULB polls, defying the peoples call to defer, took the lives of two youth. ZEF said the chief minister miserably failed to meet the aspirations and expectations of the people of Nagaland, alleging that it was “perhaps due to personal greed and casualness in discharging his given duties”. ZEF alleged that during his short span as chief minister, more damages were done than good.  ZEF urged upon all not to blame the Zeliang tribe saying, “whatever might be the physical and sentimental harms inflicted on the people of Nagaland, as a whole, we do not approve his way of managing the affairs of the state”. ZEF said Zeliang should own responsibility and pave way for peace and normalcy by resigning from the post.
