Krishi Vigyan Kendra (KVK) Mon conducted Scientific Advisory Committee (SAC) meeting on January 24, at District Agricultural Office (DAO) conference hall, Mon.
At the programme, SMS (plant protection) Martha Chakrunuo highlighted the significance of SAC meeting.
An extension literature (folder) on “Package of practices of jobs tear” was released by DAO, Mon.
The presentation of the achievement (2016-17) and annual action plan (2017-18) was presented by KVK, Mon senior scientist cum head Dr. Ruokuoville Mezhatsu.
During discussion hour, the SAC members suggested to give more emphasized on location specific crops cultivation based on soil health.
DAO, Mon suggested on Alpinia cultivation as an alternative of large cardamom due to its hardiness, high value and disease resistant. After a thorough deliberation, the house approved the annual action plan for the year (2017-18).
Altogether 27 members from various agri. & allied departments, NGOs and progressive farmers and women attended the SAC meeting.
Earlier, the programme was chaired by DAO Mon B.N. Phom, and welcome address was delivered by SMS (animal science) Dr. Paihem Michui and later vote of thanks was delivered by SMS (agronomy) Puchono Kweho.
