A special Gram Sabha meeting was held at Wokha village council hall on December 12, where the members discussed on the formulation of Gram Panchayat Development Plan (GPDP) for 2024-25.
Participants of the Gram Sabha included, Nodal Officer for GPDP in Wokha Block, Tushimanen Jamir, Young Fellow (YF) National Institute of Rural Development and Panchayati Raj, Hyderabad Aruna Markose, Anuranjan Singh overseeing Skill Development & Entrepreneurship, and Shishoi Oshom from the Entrepreneurship Task Force (ETF)-Cell Wokha.
Representatives from the department of Social Welfare and NSRLM also highlighted on their respective schemes. The meeting featured comprehensive awareness programs, highlighting various schemes, with a specific focus on PM Vishwakarma initiative.
Village Organizations (VO) and Shelf Help Groups presented their Village Poverty Reduction Plan and findings on poverty-related issues, submitted proposal for poverty reduction to the Gram Sabha.
After thoughtful deliberations and gap identification, the Gram Sabha prioritized and approved specific activities to be implemented under the GPDP for 2024-25. Under MGNREGA construction of drainage, maintenance of village road and plantations will be taken up; under Grand in Aid, beautification of village gate, construction of marketing shed and construction of retaining wall will be taken up and under 15th Finance commission.
