Office bearers of the Chang Khulei Setshang (CKS) on March 30 visited Sipongsang village and verified the ‘land encroachment’ by Angangba village and later found that action of Angangba villagers were ‘intolerable.’
According to a press release issued by CKS President, M.C Chollen, whatever decisions and direction the deputy commissioner, Tuensang, had taken on the matter were accurate and subsequent public apology demanded by United Sangtam Likhum Bumji from deputy commissioner, Tuensang, was ‘baseless’.
Quoting the statement of Additional Deputy Commissioner (ADC), Longkhim who said conflict between the two villages was not a ‘land dispute’ but that of burning of jungles, CKS said the statement itself was ‘confusion’ and ADC as responsible and jurisdictional officer should have been aware of the whole situation occurring around his administrative domain.
While asserting that it was a responsible organisation, CKS said it would seek to arrive at an amicable settlement on the issues of Angangba and Sipongsang villages.
