MLA of 38 Wokha A/C, Y. Mhonbemo Humtsoe on Friday released the souvenir of 75th Platinum jubilee of Wokha Village Students’ Union (WVSU) at the Wokha Village Community Hall.


Addressing the gathering, Y. Mhonbemo described the day as a historic moment and reflected on the jubilee celebrations, recalling the past when resources were scarce. He encouraged everyone to remember and honor the lost souls who contributed to the growth of the union.


Humtsoe also highlighted the significance of the Jubilee Souvenir, emphasizing its role in preserving memories and offering an opportunity for reflection and reminiscence.


He commended the union’s 75-year journey as a remarkable achievement and encouraged students to strive for excellence and work hard to ensure the union’s continued growth.


On the occasion, Humtsoe also introduced a Civil Services Coaching Sponsorship Programme for bonafide citizens of the 38-Wokha Assembly Constituency. He informed that the programme aims to support 25 aspirants from economically weaker sections (EWS) by sponsoring a seven-month comprehensive coaching programme for the Nagaland Public Service Commission (NPSC) and Nagaland Staff Selection Board (NSSB) examinations. He said the initiative seeks to promote meritocracy and provide greater educational opportunities to aspiring candidates from financially disadvantaged backgrounds in the Wokha constituency.


Wokha village chairman Vandan Erui speaking at the event said that good deeds always come back in a good way and wished all who contributed at the jubilee souvenir good luck and success.


Convenor of the History and Magazine Committee, Y. Likao Humtsoe, spoke on the importance of preserving history and identity. The event was chaired by general secretary WVSU Nzanthung Kikon, with an invocation by Youth Director of the Wokha Village Baptist Church (WVBC) Phyodemo Tungoe, Convenor of the Planning Committee, Chibenthung P. Kikon delivered the welcome address.

The event concluded with a vote of thanks by president WVSU, Chijamo E. Tungoe, and a benediction by assistant women leader of WVBC Eyingbeni Murry.
