Retraining of Village Health Committee (VHC) on ‘communitization’ was conducted on May 27 at CMO’s conference hall with Dr. I. Sungit Jamir, CMO, Dr. P. Tia, MS, Dr. Khrisilie, DCMO, P. Ritse, DPM, and Jongpong, accountant, RCH, Dr, Kumuni, director, Health and Family Welfare, as resource persons.
Attending and monitoring the training, Dr. Imtimeren, additional director, and joint director, Dr. Kemp, interacted with all VHCs, while also conducting a meeting with chairmen of the 14 villages where a creation of new sub-division centre’s proposal which was earlier submitted by CMO were also discussed for which time were also given to the respected chairmen to give the detail information about their respective villages including number of households, distance from the nearest sub-centre, communication and its ‘special’ difficulties if any.
Visiting Pungro sub-division’s CHC along with the district officials to know the status and functioning of the hospital, the director and her associates also imparted training to HCMC on ‘communitization’ and also interacted with the committee members and staff of the CHC.
Lauding the staff that they were stationed and rendering good service which has enabled the hospital to provide ‘24×7’ services, Town Council, Pungro, has also expressed its gratitude to the department for bringing a ‘changes’ to attain the present status.
Meanwhile, the HCMC, CHC, Pungro, have also submitted a memorandum to the principal director, health and family welfare, asking for more facilities for further improvement of the centre that emphasize on the total population of more than 40,000 and also that of 30 Naga Burmese villages.
