Intl Day against Drug Abuse & Illicit Trafficking

MLA 31 A/C I. Kheto Kinny said shame cannot solve the problem of HIV and AIDS and everybody should fight against it. He urged the general public to encourage Condom Promotion and NSEP and suggested that condoms should be kept in pharmacies and booze joints.
He was speaking at the programme on International Day against Drug Abuse & Illicit Trafficking organised by Akimbo Society Akuluto. He even urged the Churches to collaborate with the Society and encouraged Condom Promotion.
A press release received through mail stated that the MLA urged the public present in the function to educate others in moulding up the society.
Akavi ORW Akimbo Society Akuluto, in his speech, thanked the chief guest, participants and Project Orchid, NLFA.
Further, Akimbo Society organized Drama/Skit competition where participants from V.K. & Suruhuto area participated. Among the 10 participating groups, V.K group got the 1st prize, 2nd Suruhuto and 3rd Sumi Baptist Church Akuluto (Nito Mount)With the cash prizes of Rs.3000/-,2000/-,1000/- respectively.
The entire participating group was given Rs.500/- as consolation prizes. During the competition Kakuto .N. Chishi Principal of Royal English High School, Ellena K. Kinny, Head Mistress Hillto Children Home English High School , Asheni .H. Kiho Head Mistress Inato Memorial English High School, and Madam Khesheli .P. Kinny Proprietor, Alcazar English High School, were the panel of judges. Life testimony sharing by Yesuca DIC in charge V.K.Town. G.B Hotovi Chishi, also spoke on the occasion Phuba James Project Director Akimbo Society shared the background on significance of the Day and also its theme “Do Drugs Control Your Life?Your Life.Your Community. No Place for Drugs”
