The 38th Installation programme of Rotary Club was held on Saturday at Rotary Centre, Midland with MLA Azheto Zhimomi as the chief guest. NRC Nair was inducted as the new president and Deepak Chettri as secretary for 2009-10 tenure. PDG Rtn Prabhat K Kedia was the installation officer for the programme.
Speaking at the function, Azheto stated that the club had made a big difference in the life of needy people and urged all the NGOs, clubs, unions, societies to play pre-eminent role towards bridging social disparity and curbing social evils. He also congratulated the newly inducted president and secretary and appreciated the outgoing president Sanjoy Sarkar and Secretary Suresh Kushwaha for the service rendered towards the citizens of Dimapur.
Meanwhile the vocational award for the year 2009 was given to the best NST driver Thaoba Singh, best policeman constable Ashwani Kumar Singh, GRPS, Dimapur, best railway gangman Hopse Konyak and best electrical lineman Sunil Dhar.
