NSCN (I-M) clarifies report

NSCN (I-M) clarifying on Bangladesh border incident that had cost the lives of five of its comrades Tuesday said the issue was neither shortage of food nor there was any encounter as reported in newspapers. “It was purely a cold blooded slaying of the unsuspecting comrades by the traitors,” the NSCN (I-M) “Naga Army PRO/IPR col.” Levi Zimik clarified in a press release.
According to NSCN (I-M) Naga Army PRO on that fateful day of October 3, at around 1: 30 p.m. four of its cadres, out of sheer madness, gunned down five seniors, leaving another three critically injured and fled along with six arms.
The deceased have been as “capt.” Kapangmi,WTR; “sgt. maj.” Ashikho, SPMTH; “sgt. maj.” Babylon, Khurmi; “sgt.” Abner, WTR; “corpl.” Vihokhe Sumi while the injured cadres were identified as “2nd lieut.” Ashon Chiru, ZLR; “2nd lieut.” Boaz Raman, WTR and “corpl.” Mayarshang, WTR.
Meanwhile, the NSCN (I-M) has identified “deceitful murderers” as “lance corpl” Lanting Kumar, Komrem region; “lance corpl” Shonboy, Komrem region; “lance corpl” Nzanchumo Lotha and “private” Amang, ZLR.
Maintaining that “deserters” were not arrested but surrendered along with arms to the security force, the “col.” Levi Zimik said it was “obviously a premeditated plot” of the “unfaithful fellows” in collusion with the adversary for their own selfish end. Asserting what prompted the “supposedly disoriented cadres” to take such an extreme step of “eliminating their own brothers in cold blood and leave their base” could not be ascertained, the NSCN (I-M) said: “whatsoever their justification may be, they cannot escape the wrath of the nation for the most heinous crime they had committed.”
Further, the NSCN (I-M) noted that “unscrupulous fellows” not only violated the oath of allegiance but had committed a gruesome act on their own volition upon their own brothers and against the nation which deserves condemnation in the strongest term.
Meanwhile, the “Naga Army” has paid homage to comrades who had suffered till death at the altar of Naga Nation.
