As per the resolution passed by the Chiechama village council, the Chiechama village youth organization (CVYO) and Chiechama women society (CWS) implemented a total prohibition of alcohol at its jurisdiction from June.
In a release, CVYO president, Avi Keditsu and CVYO general secretary Keneingusa Rüpreo said the CVYO and CWS conducted a surprise checking at NH-2 and seized alcohol during the month of July.
The organization also recently conducted a surprise checking at its own jurisdiction and seized around 1020 bottles of alcohol amounting to Rs.3, 00,000 from non-citizens of village for selling and supplying to the village.
The seized alcohol were later destroyed in the presence of the village council chairman, GB’S, Church leaders etc., on September 4.
Further the organizations cautioned citizens as well as non-citizens that they would be dealt with severally if found carrying/supplying prohibited items.
