Vafümai union observes union day

With the aim to keep the villagers strong and united, Vafümai union Kohima observed its 20th union day under the theme “unity can survive” with chairman autonomous district council Senaptai Manipur, M.L. Markson as the chief guest and vice president Poumai Naga women Dimapur, Th. Kaisa as guest of honour on December 4 at Baptist High Auditorium, Kohima.
Markson in his address appreciated the effort of the union for bringing the villagers together for good purpose. He encouraged the union members to fear God, seek His Kingdom for all blessings and to be active members in the church. He also shared the importance of humbleness and patience to be successful and fruitful in life.
He advised the young students to strive hard in life and enjoy the fruits of hard labour which every parent dream of. He reminded the students’ community about the burden, sweat and tears of parents to give them quality education.
He also shared the responsibilities of the parents to train and guide the children in the right way and in fear of the lord to be fruitful in life.
Kaisa in her address reminded the gathering the responsibilities of womenfolk, as mother and home keeper. She reminded that women played a great role to maintain cordial relationship with neighbours and in-laws. She said that raising a God fearing child and guidance in the right way depended on the mother.
She also reminded wife and mother the responsibilities towards their husbands. Kaisa also stressed the importance of women education in this modern technology age for the greater contribution towards family and society.
The programme was compeered by Masoni Moses and K. Ashune, welcome song presented by Vafümai Women Society Kohima, invocation prayer by deacon Thezü and welcome address delivered by president VUK, Pfoni. Special songs were presented by D. Hrai and LYSOK, brief history of Vafümai Union Kohima shared by L.K. Akho, dance performed by Muvi and Metovile, D. Kho, K. Afodio and D. Isaac led in brain storming session, and closing prayer tendered by Kapazü general secretary. Hundreds of Vafümai villagers, both young and old attended the programme.
