On the occasion of Delhi’s Centenary, the exhibition organized by the journal ‘Rainbow Pao’ and Baljit Malik at Niathu Resort on Saturday exhibited the records of how independent India has destroyed the legacy and turned Delhi as the most best planned and most beautiful city in the world and instead turned Delhi into a septic drain less slum and ghetto. The exhibition was only an observance of a tragic reality. 100 capital years, New Delhi 1911-2011 is the private journey of Baljit Malik.
The exhibition also makes the connection between the North-East and Delhi where many Naga, Kuki, Meitei, Ahom and others. “Delhi treats them with racist abuse while Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram and Assam’s administrations in Delhi do precious little to take care of their citizen’s health, housing and general security problems,” stated Baljit Malik.
Baljit Malik also stated that Rainbow Pao has put this exhibition together without sponsorship from any agency/government, corporate or NGO. “100 Capital years” is available in book-form for Rs.400/- from sharealight@gmail.com. The booklet comes with an ACD of 100 years of Delhi’s music.
