Joining along with the rest of the world and state, Dimapur celebrated National Voter’s Day at DC’s office conference hall on January 25. DC and district election officer N. Hushili Sema chaired the programme.
Hushili Sema in her short speech said it was a constitutional right of every citizens of India who had attended the age of 18 years to franchise their vote and it was also duties of every citizen to participate in the electoral process of the country.
National Voters Day is also being celebrated basically to felicitate the young voters who had attended 18 years of age to franchise their voting rights.
Another important aspect of celebrating this day is to enhance the number of voters and to educate and create awareness about the electoral process of the country. DC further said that during this celebration the new voters were being issued ApIC card, badge and pleading a slogan ‘I am ready to vote.’
