Participants from nine Self Help Groups (SHGs) under Medziphema Block were trained on Mushroom Cultivation and Poultry management at a day-long training cum demonstration programme held at SHN (Green Park) here Friday.
Organized by ATMA Medziphema Block, the participants were imparted a live demonstration on mushroom cultivation by resource person, Sashi HO. He encouraged the women participants to grow mushrooms as it involves low investment and low cost technology.
Pointing out that the mushroom has been recommended for diabetes and heart patients and that it has got high demand in local market, he said growing of mushroom would be a profitable business.
“The climate of Nagaland is also very suitable and the raw materials are available in abundance for mushroom cultivation”, he added. The training on poultry management was conducted by BTT member, Dr. Kelesekho.
Earlier, the training programme was chaired by AHO and convener ATMA, Temsu.
