Rio inaugurates SDO (C)

Chief Minister Neiphiu Rio on February 24 inaugurated the newly upgraded Chessore as SDO (C) headquarters.
Rio said it was a red letter day for the people of Chessore area and said many developments have been initiated in the backward areas and that more areas needed to be developed.

Stating that many things have been achieved in Shamator-Chessore area in recent years, Rio said it was possible because of the cooperation and coordination of the people and their representative with the government and called on them to continue to work hand in hand with the government.

Chief minister also called on the youth of the region to come up to avail the facilities extended by the DAN government saying that youths are being given maximum opportunities by his government to take up various challenges in these modern times of competition and innovations. He said the upcoming youth expo and tribal fests in all districts are aimed to explore and encourage the youths in their innovative endeavour.

He also said demands of the area as mentioned in the memorandum presented to him would be addressed and announced to provide Rs. 10 lakhs for extension of the playground at Chessore.

Regarding construction of office for the SDO (C) he said that funds would be earmarked in the coming state budget and requested the people to provide the site.

He also said that necessary verification of requirements would be conducted by officials and funds would be provided for construction of Town Hall, roads etc in the area.

Parliamentary Secretary for CAWD, Torechu and Parliamentary Secretary for IPR, Economics & Statistics, R. Tohanba also addressed the function.

Earlier, a monolith marking the up-gradation was unveiled by the chief minister who was accompanied by his wife, minister for agriculture, Chumben Murry his wife and additional chief secretary & commissioner Nagaland, Banuo Z. Jamir.
