Nagaland governor Nikhil Kumar and chief minister Neiphiu Rio have conveyed heartfelt condolences over the demise of state social welfare secretary and Nagaland bamboo development agency (NBDA) team leader Norman Putsure, who died at New Delhi April 27.
In his condolence message to Normna’s wife Akruzo Putsure, governor Nikhil said he was grieved to learn about the demise of Norman Putsure and conveyed heartfelt condolences to family members.
Nikhil said people of Nagaland have lost an able administrator and a sincere officer, while describing Norman as warm hearted and cheerful human being. Governor further said Norman, as an administrator, was always willing to take on difficult responsibilities.
“The people with whom he interacted through the years, in particular, and the Government in general will remember him for a long time,” said Nikhil.
State chief minister Neiphiu Rio also said it was with deep shock and sorrow he received the sad news of the untimely demise of Norman Putsure.
Rio said Norman Putsure has been one of the brightest, smartest and most efficient officers in Nagaland, who had always made indelible marks in whatever assignments entrusted to him.
Recalling a situation during last Assembly election, when Zunheboto district administration failed to control the situation, jeopardizing the successful conduct of election in the district, the chief minister said government then specially hand picked Norman to immediately proceed to Zunheboto, take over as DC Zunheboto and conduct the election. “Which he did with remarkable alacrity and success,” said Rio and described him as “a man for all occasions and seasons.”
Further, chief minister said his untimely demise was a big loss to the state government, to the IAS fraternity, to the Angami community and to the people of the state, adding that it would be really difficult to fill up the void left by his untimely death.
Rio also conveyed heartfelt condolences to Mrs.Akruzo Putsure and her children and to other bereaved family members and prayed that the Almighty God grant them the strength to bear the immense shock and irreparable loss.
MP (Rajya Sabha) Khekiho Zhimomi, expressing condolences at the demise of Norman Putsure, said he had a long term association with late Norman and described him as “an officer with full dedication and exemplary sense of bureaucratic responsibilities”, who has been instrumental in positive implementation of numerous programmes under various departments of the state government. Khekiho has also conveyed his condolence to the bereaved family.
Old Boys Association of Sainik Schools, (OBASS) Nagaland chapter has expressed condolences at the death of Norman Putsere. In a condolence note, OBASS president L. Kire said Norman was an alumnus of Sainik school Bhubaneswar, Orissa.
OBASS also conveyed condolences to the bereaved family and prayed for the departed soul.
