Kyong Students Union to observe ‘Black Day’

Kyong students’ union will observe ‘Black Day’ on April 14, 9 a.m. at KSU martyrs park to commemorate and honour the sacrifice made by its leaders late Thungkhomo Ezung and late Chumdamo Tungoe, who laid down their precious lives on April 14, 1977 in police firing during a silent procession organized by the Lotha Student’s Union in protest against the “inhuman and barbaric act” meted out to the then SDO Ngurkhuma Mizo by the Assam Police and Assam Forest Guards.

All executive members of KSU and range/area/circle presidents and general secretaries have been requested to attend the programme positively.

Further, the union informed all educational institutions in the district to observe 1 minute silent prayer and also give half holiday to the students’ on April 15 as a mark of respect to its “beloved leaders”.
