Set up inquiry into centrally sponsored schemes: NPCC

Nagaland Pradesh Congress committee has urged the government of India to initiate at least a preliminary enquiry into the utilizations of the centrally sponsored schemes during the last ten years under the NPF-led DAN government.
In a statement, NPCC president S.I. Jamir and general secretary (admin) Medokul Sophie said Nagaland was a poor and resource starved state but the money in terms of nearly thousand crores used by the NPF called for serious public scrutiny of the utilizations of the centrally sponsored schemes during the last ten years of DAN government.
NPCC also reiterated its commitment for an honourable political settlement as the first priority. The Nagas have been expecting early solution of the long standing Naga problem but it continues to defy solution, said NPCC adding that the state Congress urges the government of India to resolve the issue at the shortest time possible time.
The Congress also expressed shock at the money power “exhibited and demonstrated” by NPF in the recently concluded assembly selection. According to NPCC, the election was in total contravention of NBCC’s clean election campaign where the fate of the representatives was decided by “money power”.
It has deiced to send a delegation to Delhi to take up election matters with ECI. The meeting also unanimously resolved to immediately revamp NPCC at all levels with a view to strengthening and revitalizing all the organs of the party.
NPCC promised to fight against the anti-people activities/policies of DAN government perpetrated in the form of “mass corruption scandals, favouritism and nepotism, etc.”
