Governor interacts with specially challenged persons

State governor Nikhil Kumar hosted a programme-cum-dinner for specially challenged children at Raj Bhavan, Kohima on June 4. Children from Cherry Blossoms School, Jo Foundation, Tabitha Enabling Academy and other participants from both Kohima and Dimapur showcased their talents including songs and choreography.

Governor urged all to join hands with National Badthe Kadam to support and uplift the specially challenged persons. He was very impressed by the programme put up by specially challenged children and on his suggestion they were given a standing ovation.

Daniel Thong, Administrator, Jo Foundation, Kohima also said the rights of the disabled should not be suppressed but everyone should make an attempt to reach out to help and support.

He appreciated churches and NGOs for taking effort in encouraging the special children. The programme was attended by Chotisuh Sazo, Parliamentary Secretary for Social Welfare, Child and Women Development and his wife, parents, teachers and a delegation from Delhi led by Poonam Natarajan, Chairperson of the National Trust, UNCRPD, Atul Prasad, Joint Secretary & CEO, National Trust, compere for the programme was Neikule Doulo, chairperson, Enable.
The programme was followed by dinner in the Raj Bhavan Banquet Hall.
