Nagaland governor, Dr. Ashwani Kumar would be giving away meritorious awards to the toppers of class 12 and degree examinations conducted by NBSE and NU on June 1 at 12 noon.
The meritorious award ceremony organized by department of higher education will be held at the Durbar Hall, Raj Bhavan Kohima. Parliamentary secretary higher education and SCERT, Deo Nukhu will give a short speech while commissioner and secretary higher and technical education, F.P. Solo will deliver the welcome address.
Cash awards and laptops for toppers
Acknowledging the outstanding performances by students at the recently declared HSLC and HSSLC result and degree examinations, a new system has been introduced by the department of higher education which carries a cash award of Rs. 10,000 and a laptop for the first ten toppers of class X, class XII and degree students.
